Cluny bank was built in the early eighteen hundreds and extended in 1910. Being a listed historic building it has been carefully maintained. It was a private home for many years and we converted it into a hotel in 1999. We have been very careful to retain its fine original victorian features and now cluny bank hotel is a friendly inviting hotel offering state of the art amenities. In august 2005 we were awarded 4 stars by the scottish tourist board. We invite you to stay with us and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere! Cluny bank can also be booked on an exclusive use basis for your private party. Imagine a warm and inviting highland home big enough for all your family or friends to celebrate christmas new year or other special occasion! Forres is situated along the a96 the main road between aberdeen and inverness close to findhorn and kinloss and lies directly on the world famous whisky and castle trails. This area is also known for its many golf courses. The forres golf course is just around the corner and there are thirteen different golf courses within a half hour drive. But also for walkers cyclists surfers yachtsmen and canoeists the moray-area has a lot to offer making cluny bank hotel an ideal base for an active holiday. We can arrange your golfing packages fishing packages arrange transport connection or whatever your need may be.
all our rooms are individual they are all different in shape and size. Each room has been tastefully decorated and furnished and all are equipped with tea/coffee making facilities hair dryer radio alarm clock with ipod docking station telephone penhaligon toiletries tv and video disc player.
in the lounge bar a constantly renovated collection of dvd's are available for you to watch free of charge or you can curl up and read a book next to the cosy fire and be tempted to choose from a range of 33 (and growing) malt whiskys including ten impressions from the local benromach distillery. A trouser press and/or iron and ironing board are available and will be brought up to your room should you so wish. A selection of newspapers are available to read over breakfast.
the hotel is situated in a very peaceful residential area of forres but only five minutes walk from the town centre. There is a wooded area to the side and back of the building and quite often rabbits and red squirrels are seen in the grounds. There are several walks possible for instance to grant park of forres with its famous floral sculptures or follow the track leading to nelson tower. During the season this viewpoint is very popular because of it's magnificent views over the moray firth.
