Much wenlock offers the rustic charm of a medieval market-town, filled with a patchwork of twisting streets, black and white half-timbered buildings, limestone cottages, speciality shops, numerous hostelries and watering holes and the remains of a magnificent 12th century priory.

Additional Details:

Cowslip cottage was originally a barn and has been lovingly restored to offer accommodation for up to two people. It is situated just over three miles away from much wenlock, in 70 acres of farmland. It retains much of its original charm, through exposed beams that run throughout the property. The accommodation is spread out over one story and is arranged in an open-plan style. The communal garden to the rear has 2 fishing lakes and allows ample opportunity for a spot of alfresco dining in the summer months. There is parking for up to two cars and local amenities can be found in much wenlock. Amenities: full oil central heating with additional heating from electric fire in sitting area. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washer-dryer, colour television, video disc player, radio etc. All fuel and power inc. In rent. Bed linen and towels inc. In rent. Off road parking for 2 cars. Large three acre, lawned garden with two large fish stocked pools, garden furniture and bbq. 2 small dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. There is free private trout fishing on site (fish must be returned to pond). Shops and restaurants in much wenlock 3.5 mis, pub 1.5mis. Note: only suitable for a babe in arms. There is a private spring water supply. There are 2 unfenced ponds in the garden. Region: a e houseman once wrote that shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as 1 of the least crowded and most quiet regions in england. Town: the priory forms a backdrop to many outdoor events and theatrical performances, including the tales from the edge festival. The 16th century guildhall hosts regular antiques markets. Above the town rises the wenlock edge which provides glorious views. This fifteen mile limestone escarpment was created some 400 million years ago and is now looked after by the national trust. The edge and its ancient woodlands offer excellent walks, cycling and riding opportunities. Long distance routes like the jack mytton way and shropshire way pass over wenlock edge. Nearby are further attractions, such as benthall hall - a 16th century house with stunning interiors and a carefully restored plantsman's garden - and broseley pipe works: a victorian clay tobacco-pipe works.

all prices are inclusive of the booking fee. Winter short breaks (wsb) are available at many properties in the "winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off season breaks (osb) are available at many properties in parts of the "low" and "mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a three night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted winter short break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Osbs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "last minute breaks" (lmb) are available at most properties throughout the "low", "mid", "high", "peak", "xmas" and "new year" periods. The price for a three night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted winter short break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Lmbs can be booked within 1 week of the start date of the holiday.
