Foxgloves cottage is a stone built cottage which adjoins the owners' farmhouse, 2mis from the town of wigton, near to the lake district national park. Boasting three beds, comprising of 1 family room with a double and adult bunk beds, 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom, this cottage sleeps 8 people. The cottage also has a family bathroom and a family shower room, a kitchen with a dedicated dining area room and a sitting area with an open fire. To the outside of this cottage there is a garden with furniture and ample parking. Foxgloves cottage is an ideal holiday cottage for exploring cumbria and the lake district national park. Amenities: heating from night storage heaters and additional heating from oil-fired aga and open fire in sitting area. Aga cooker, electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, colour television, video etc. Use of cloths washer and tumble dryer by arrangement. All fuel and power inc. In rent. Bed linen and towels inc. In rent. Cot and highchair on request. Sunny garden with garden furniture. Ample parking. 1 well behaved pet welcome, 2nd pet welcome at a charge of £10. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 2mis. Region: impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the lake district has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, cumbria is the perfect holiday destination. Town: with a charter granted in 1262, the traditional cumbrian market town of wigton still holds a market each tuesday in the covered market hall. This lovely town is a popular centre for shopping, pubs and restaurants, as well as for other activities such as theatre, bowls, swimming, tennis and other sports. The lord melvyn bragg novel, 'a time to dance', featured the town of thurston, which was based on wigton and the local area. The town is just 18mis from penrith and so makes an excellent base from which to explore the cathedral city of carlisle, the north lakes and the natural beauty of the west cumbrian coast. The epic roman construction, hadrian’s wall, is within 25mis, whilst the scottish borders and their famous town of gretna green are within easy driving distance.
