There is also a bathroom with bath, basin and wc. The cottage offers open plan living accommodation with a fitted kitchen, dedicated dining area room and sitting room with woodburner. Outside, the cottage has off road parking for 2 cars and a private lawned garden with patio and furniture. Guests also have access to a shared lawned area with a summerhouse. In a quiet, rural location, with lovely walks available nearby and a number of interesting towns within travelling distance, grist mill cottage makes a lovely holiday base. Named after the chalk streamed fontmell brook, the village is home to thatched cottages and a local pub serving good food and ales. The historic town of shaftesbury is four miles away, with its abbey, and 'gold hill', perhaps best known from television’s hovis adverts. Also within travelling distance are sherborne with its castle and abbey, stonehenge, salisbury and bath, and the picturesque jurassic coast. The area also offers good walking.

Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off season breaks (osb) are available at many properties in parts of the "low" and "mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a three night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted winter short break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Osbs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "last minute breaks" (lmb) are available at most properties throughout the "low", "mid", "high", "peak", "xmas" and "new year" periods. The price for a three night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted winter short break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Lmbs can be booked within 1 week of the start date of the holiday.
