This timber clad, barn conversion cottage with woodburning stove for four people is situated in the small village of clive which is nine miles from the historic market town of shrewsbury in shropshire.

Ivy barn, as its name suggest, was originally a barn, built from traditional grinshill sandstone. It has been lovingly restored to provide accommodation for groups of up to four people. Many of the barn’s original features have been incorporated into the conversion, such as oak beams, stone-slated floors and a wood-burning stove. All the accommodation is spread out over 1 floor and french windows from the sitting area lead to a small, charming garden; perfect for enjoying a spot of outdoor-dining in the summer months. Off-road parking for two cars is available, but the local shop is a short stroll away and the local pub is just over a mile away. Amenities: full central gas heat with additional heating from woodburner in sitting area. Stoves newhome dual fuel cooker with electric double oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge, cloths washer, dishwasher, two x colour tvs, dvd, stereo/cd player. Telephone for outgoing calls (with honesty box). Fuel, power and starter pack of fuel for woodburner inc. In rent. Bed linen and towels inc. In rent. Off road parking for two cars. Enclosed lawned garden, 2 decked patio areas and garden furniture. Sorry, no pets or smoking. Shop five mins walk, pub/restaurant 1.1 mis. Note: access between kitchen and dining area has limited head room. Region: a e houseman once wrote that shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as 1 of the least crowded and most quiet regions in england. Town: clive is a small village located around the west side of grinshill hill. Grinshill hill is a local beauty spot and there is a nearby mine from which the grinshill sandstone was excavated to be used in building the village of clive. Attractions are wide and varied in this part of shropshire and there is plenty for outdoor-types, such as walking and cycling. If you prefer to take things a bit easier, but still want to enjoy the stunning scenery, a boat-trip on the severn will relax and inspire you. The nearby village of wroxeter pays testament to the region’s historic past, having uncovered a myriad of roman artefacts, such as the magnificent roman baths. There is even a roman vineyard which still produces wine for sale to the public.

Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off season breaks (osb) are available at many properties in parts of the "low" and "mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a three night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted winter short break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Osbs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "last minute breaks" (lmb) are available at most properties throughout the "low", "mid", "high", "peak", "xmas" and "new year" periods.
