Situated on the main street of the quiet village of gilling west, this lovely 200 yr-old stone-built terraced cottage is just three mi. From the historic market town of richmond. The cottage has been tastefully updated to retain much of its original character and offers wonderful beamed ceilings, delightful furnishings and a feature fireplace with open fire. There is also a spacious kitchen diner and a small quiet snug, as well as a small patio area with pretty garden furniture. Amenities: heating from electric panel heaters throughout with additional heating from open fire in the sitting area. Electric oven, propane gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, cloths washer, dishwasher, colour television with freeview, video disc player, stereo/cd player, radio etc. Fuel, power and starter pack for open fire inc. In rent. Bed linen and towels inc. In rent. Highchair available. Small rear patio area with garden furniture. Roadside parking on a 1st come, 1st served basis. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub less than one minimum walk. Region: the north york moors national park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers. Town: winner of the "yorkshire in bloom" award, the attractive and quiet dales village of gilling west is situated in lovely rolling countryside just a few miles to the north of the popular market town of richmond. With its pretty georgian theatre and ruined medieval castle overlooking the river swale, this is an incredibly picturesque little town and is well worth visiting. Gilling west itself boasts a lovely old church, 2 pubs – both of which serve food – and a village shop and post office. The region is full of footpaths and bridleways, making this an excellent spot for walkers and cyclists, and there is also good fishing available nearby. This lovely little village makes an excellent base for anyone looking to explore all that swaledale and teesdale have to offer.
