This delightful stone terraced cottage is just a few minutes walk from the centre of bakewell and has been lovingly restored to provide a fabulous holiday property. The siting room is cosy and welcoming and has a wood burner to make the room a restful place after a busy day. There is a bright, airy kitchen and the advantage of a separate dining area, and the two beds are beautifully furnished and decorated, offering a tranquil haven in which to have a refreshing night’s sleep. The luxurious bathroom has a dedicated shower and a bath perfect for unwinding. There is a small, pretty court yard with a gas barbecue and furniture, and with all the amenities and attractions close to bakewell this cottage is an ideal base for a holiday. Amenities: full gas fired central heating throughout with additional heating from wood-burning stove in sitting area. Gas cooker, microwave, fridge, cloths washer (in bathroom), dishwasher, colour television, video disc player, cd player/cassette/radio etc. Fuel, power and starter pack for wood-burning stove inc. In rent. Bed linen and towels inc. In rent. Cot and highchair. Parking permit provided for 1 car for roadside residential parking, additional parking (free) 50-100 yards from cottage. Small ct. Yard with furniture and gas bbq. 2 well behaved dogs welcome at £10 per pet. Sorry, no smoking. Shops and pubs two mins walk. Region: the ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the peak district offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon 6 counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales. Town: bakewell is a charming market town and offers a variety of shops restaurants, pubs and of course the famous ‘bakewell market’ mainly held on a monday and which dates back to at least 1300. At the centre of the town is a 17th century market hall and the famous public house the rutland arms, built in 1804 and said to be the home of the ‘bakewell pudding.’ there are some very pleasant walks from the bridge in the centre of bakewell that go along the river and bakewell is a perfect place from which to explore the peak district, with the white and dark peaks within easy reach. In nearby castleton the blue john caverns are an impressive site to see and the halls of haddon and hardwick are both well worth a visit.
