Situated in a quiet and quiet location on the edge of the forest of dean and over looking the river severn estuary, hamstalls is 1 of two adjacent holiday cottages.
Additional Details:
It has recently been converted to a high standard and is run as “sustainably” as possible. It has under-floor heating from a ground source heat pump, a log burner, a small private garden, patio, barbeque, and parking for two cars. The cottage is on a single level, is suitable for wheel chairs and is graded mobility level 1. Hamstalls has 1 double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower over & 1 double or twin bedroom (zip and link beds) with ensuite wet room. There is a well equipped kitchen, comfortable living room with television, cd player etc and a selection of board games and books are provided. Dog owners are welcome to exercise their dogs in 1 of the orchards in front of the cottages when the sheep are not using them. There is a washer and dryer area with cloths washer, tumble drier, ironing board and iron and “sheila” drying rack. Outside there is a shelter where bikes etc can be stored and, nearby, there is a hose which can be used to wash down bikes and boots. The river bank and the severn way footpath are less than 100m away through the owner’s garden.

the cottage is close to several footpaths including the severn way footpath which follows the river and is 1 of the longest footpaths in england. There is easy access to the river which can rise as much as ten metres when the tide comes in and provides interesting conditions for surfers and is always an amazing sight. The ancient village of awre with its 15th century pub and norman church is in easy walkable distance across the fields and boasts local farm butcher, a cider maker and a potter. From the cottage, the picturesque village of newnham can be reached either by a 3mi car journey or a very pretty walk along the river, while in the other direction, blakeney gives access to a scenic rouet through the forest.
