Set in beautiful, unspoiled countryside, the hop kiln is an ideal place to stay to explore the wonderful welsh marches, close to historic ludlow with its castle, stunning medieval and georgian buildings, antique shops, restaurants and arts and food festivals.

It is excellent walking country with rolling countryside, the drama of the clee hills and tranquility of mortimer forest.
The cottage is approached down a long drive off a peaceful lane with the owners 16th century farmhouse near by. It is an early victorian building, where hops grown on the farm were dried and bagged for the english brewing industry, until it fell into disuse. The beautifully restored building retains many original features and is decorated and furnished to a high standard with antiques, very comfortable beds and a log burning stove.
There are 2 beds, both en-suite, 1 has 2 single beds, optional as a double, and a roll top bath in the bathroom. The other has a king size bed with a shower room and retains the distinctive truncated shape in the ceiling of the original hops drying space. The sitting area has a high beamed ceiling with the log burner and lots of books and maps. The kitchen/dedicated dining area area is fully equipped with state of the art appliances and good quality fixtures and fittings.
There is a private court yard, private parking and a lawned garden area with a picnic bench and wonderful sunset views across the countryside towards mortimer forest.
we are just over one hours drive west from birmingham international airport and six miles from ludlow train station.
