This inviting cottage is full of character and includes three beds, a well-equipped fitted kitchen and a comfortable living room. The terraced garden leads straight to the water's edge which is a good spot for fishing, or simply relaxing with a good book. The property is close to the activities and attractions of the region, as well as being within close proximity of the amenities on offer in jackfield itself. Amenities: full central gas heat, woodburner in sitting area. Double electric oven & hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, colour television, video disc player, stereo/cd player. Terraced riverside garden with three sitting areas, garden furniture, wonderful views & evening lighting over river severn. Sorry, no pets & no smoking. Accessing some garden areas may be difficult for less able. Note: owner fees a refundable good housekeeping bond of £75. Region: a e houseman once wrote that shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as 1 of the least crowded and most quiet regions in england. Town: situated on the banks of the river severn is the village of jackfield, close to ironbridge gorge and home of the world's 1st iron-built bridge, constructed 1777-79. Jackfield stands on the wrekin way footpath, which offers easy access to many scenic walks and cycle trails. The centre of ironbridge is just a mile away and is 1 of the country's most popular tourist attractions. Situated in a lovely wooded valley in the heart of shropshire, the village itself is home to many pubs, restaurants, shops and tea-rooms. A wide collection of industrial and victorian theme museums are located in ironbridge gorge, including blist hill victorian village – a chance to experience what life was like in the victorian era. The historic towns of much wenlock, shrewsbury and ludlow are also close by.
