The granary is a delightful stone cottage set in a court yard in a rural location three miles south of the small town of duns, with its shops, tearooms and hotels, with the town of berwick-upon-tweed with its elizabethan walls some 13mis away, and the fast a1 with its easy access to edinburgh to the north and newcastle-upon-tyne to the south.

Built in the 1800's as a working granary, it is set in the rolling merse of berwickshire, providing luxury self catering accommodation with a private garden, with garden furniture and a handy barbecue, overlooking open fields. The cottage has recently been updated to a high standard with all state of the art comforts whilst retaining the charm of the original features we have teamed up with local massage therapist, katy master, to bring massage to mount pleasant holiday cottages. Massage therapy has been practiced for many thousands of years: the ancient cultures of china, japan, egypt, rome and arabia all used massage and recognised its ability to calm, soothe, relax and heal. It is the perfect way to unwind and relax after a day exploring the scottish borders! Katy is a remedial massage therapist who lives locally and works in berwickshire and the surrounding area. She has diplomas in swedish massage, and sports and remedial massage and a certificate in indian head massage. She is a member of the scottish massage therapists organisation. If you would like to book a massage with katy, please contact her directly on 01890 xxxxxx or 07531 xxxxxx. Treatments last for 1 hour. On the ground level there is a large sitting area with dedicated dining area area, a state of the art well equipped kitchen with breakfast area, a toilet and shower room and door leading into the garden. Upstairs there are 2 boutiquestyle bedrooms individually designed, each en-suite and with their own freeview t.v. 1 has twin beds which can convert to a superking and the other large bedroom has a kingsize bed. Exposed beams, wood-burning stove and cosy yet stylish interiors all help to create a relaxing quiet ambiance and a base for your scottish borders adventures. There is an award winning restaurant within 2mis from the cottage, and home cooked meals can also be delivered to your door by prior arrangement. A qualified remedial massage therapist can visit by arrangement to ensure a relaxing break. Electric heating, logs, bed linen and towels all included. Pets are welcome by arrangement we would like you to arrive and start your holiday knowing all your basic essentials are provided, therefore the cupboards are stocked with washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, bin bags, toilet roll, washing powder etc. ( eco-friendly products ) there will also be a 'welcome tray' which may include some home-baking or local honey, granny webster's homemade jam or marmalade and certainly some tea and coffee to get you started. Free range eggs from our local source may be thrown in! Recycling tubs are provided and we will dispose of these at the end of your stay. Entry from 4.00 pm and departure at 10.00 a.m.
