Town: set amidst the rolling hills and beautiful countryside, the village of cardington boasts the oldest pub in shropshire – the royal oak – an establishment mentioned in the domesday book. This wonderful, remote setting is an excellent spot for walkers, cyclists and bird watchers, though the area also boasts facilities for horse riders. The local area is home to the acton scott historic working farm, severn valley steam railway, stokesay castle, shrewsbury, ludlow and the ironbridge gorge. The market towns of church stretton – known as "little switzerland" by the victorians – and much wenlock are both close by and offer a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants.

Osbs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "last minute breaks" (lmb) are available at most properties throughout the "low", "mid", "high", "peak", "xmas" and "new year" periods. The price for a three night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted winter short break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Lmbs can be booked within 1 week of the start date of the holiday.
