Montalto Farmhouse is set on a sixty-acre farm at the top of the Antrim plateau. The breath taking beautiful scenic view covers the rolling hills of Co. Antrim and County Derry.
The 4 bedroomed house has been lovingly refurbished and has all the character if an Irish farmhouse with all the comforts of modern living. There is an ample sized, south facing garden to the front of the house with views across the fields and glen to the fell Slieve Na Nee. There is an outside dining table and barbeque to enjoy eating al fresco in the long summer evenings.
The farmhouse sits on the edge of a working farm, which has been farmed by the same family for three generations since the late eighteen hundreds. The livestock consists of one hundred sheep the majority being a Horned Blackface Scottish Lanark breed and from April the fields are full of new lambs. You are welcome to have a wander around the farm and look at the animals and children may even get the chance to help feed some of the new lambs. Remember, caution is always required to ensure heath and safety when visiting a working farm.
The house being at the top of the Antrim plateau means visitors are only a ten minute drive away from the Glens of Antrim and Glenariffe forest walks and forty five minutes away from one of the Seven Wonders of the World the Giants Causeway.
The famous Antrim coastline is amongst the most spectacular in Europe and the Glens of Antrim along with much of the coastline here is under the stewardship of the National Trust.
Walking and cycling and golf are fabulous, with coastal and Antrim Glens walks giving spectacular viewpoints, and Golf courses aplenty. A 50 minutes drive takes you to the Gaints Causeway and Carrick a rede rope bridge. The great shopping town of Ballymena is only a twenty minute drive away.
